Rated one of the top 50 companies, company keeps up assurances to transitioning military veterans
PITTSBURGH – This Veterans Day, Bruster’s Real Ice Cream has even more cause to celebrate. With a time-honored commitment to veterans and their families, nearly 10 percent of the company’s store owners are military personnel. And as a result of its established efforts and the environment it fosters, Bruster’s was recently named a 2019 Top Franchise for Veterans by Entrepreneur Magazine.
“Our Bruster’s family is made up of a dynamic group of individuals, families and leaders,” said CEO Jim Sahene. “We’re proud to have military veterans as part of our team and truly believe they are a great fit for our business. The experience, mentality and attitude they bring to Bruster’s is inspirational and this acknowledgement from Entrepreneur is another pledge from us to our people and prospects.”
Bruster’s participates in promoting franchise opportunities to military personnel each year, as well as creating and distributing a newsletter with content to prospects that brings to life its welcoming invitation for veterans looking to open a military-friendly business.
“I have been a franchisee with the Bruster’s brand for more than 25 years,” said Rick Deemer, a Bruster’s Real Ice Cream franchisee in Marietta, Georgia. “It’s been a great transitional career for me and my family. I enjoy working with the youth of today and helping them to develop strong work ethics.”
Bill Palaich, a Bruster’s franchisee in Clermont, Florida is in agreement.
“What I love most about being a Bruster’s franchisee is working with youngsters, many of whom are working their first job. Watching these kids develop and grow is very rewarding as well as seeing them instill a good work ethic, integrity and good citizenship.”
Bruster’s Real Ice Cream offers a 50 percent discount, $17,500, on franchise fees to military veterans.
Also, Bruster’s growth continues to endure with agreements secured for future openings in Austin, Texas, Nashville, Tennessee, Charlotte, North Carolina, Columbia, South Carolina, Bowie, Maryland, Columbus, Ohio, Ashburn, Virginia, Capitol Heights, Maryland, Freemont, Hollywood and Long Beach, California, Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
